Took the girls to see the second Pirates movie tonight. They’d already seen it with my folks. (I think the last movie my parents saw in a theater was Superman, with Christopher Reeves!) Both girls were excited about getting me to go to it. I was completely impressed by the thing. The scenes with the Kraken wrecking ships made me gasp out loud. Wild stuff.

    I was amazed by the triple sword fight on the moving paddle wheel. I was also amazed by DJ’s crew, but it was almost too much to look at. I’d like to get the DVD and pause it on some crew scenes so I can get a better look at the hammerhead guy and his pals.

    I’d have to say that the paddle wheel fight had me freaking out for the whole thing. My daughters were very amused, since they’d seen it, so they watched me for the “big fight” parts, knowing how much I like that sort of thing. That was the most amazing sword fight since the barn rafter hopping thing in the Musketeer.
